berry back 2 earth farm visit

Almost every school holidays we visit family in Berry, 2 hours south of Sydney. We spend time in Berry village, go op-shopping, hang out at the beach, spend time in grandma’s garden, chase the neighbour’s chickens, light bonfires, check out local markets, cook (a lot), drink red wine, eat, laugh & generally have a very a relaxing time. I always think I’m going to get in touch with the guys at Back 2 Earth (who I Insta-met on Instagram some time ago) & arrange a visit, but we always run out of time. This trip we finally did it, we finally met the lovely Jenny & Marc from  Back 2 Earth!berry-goatBack 2 Earth is a raw vegan B&B (check out their food on Instagram here), set on 5 acres, just 5 minutes outside the main town of Berry. The owners Jenny & Marc grow their own organic fruit & veggies. Using them to make beautiful raw vegan dishes. They have created an animal sanctuary, where they look after all kinds of rescued animals. When visiting or staying on the farm guests can get involved feeding these beautiful creatures, morning & night.berry-feeding goatsWe arrived around 3pm, just in time for a beautiful afternoon tea. Jenny took the boys into the tea garden to pick fresh herbs for our tea, lemon verbena & mint. Marc made some lovely fresh ginger beer & yummy raw desserts, like mint slice, chocolate & lemon – so good!! With full bellies, it was time to feed the Back 2 Earth animals, most of which have been rescued by Jenny & Marc.berry-raw dessertsberry-alpacasThe kids had an absolute ball, there are around 80 animals on the farm… all with names! We started off rounding up the ducks & geese getting them all safe into their area for the night. Some didn’t make it in first go & took a little lap around their enclosure, the kids thought this was hilarious! Next, we fed the alpacas, goats & horses. Soon after that, it was time to tuck in the chickens, rabbits & guinea pigs. Last stop was back at the main house to feed Jenny & Marcs beautiful Cocker Spaniels Smudge & Ebony (my boys fell in love with these guys). We also got a sneak peak of two teeny tiny new kittens, Kovu & Nala. By this time it was around 6pm & dark, don’t ya love winter! so we bid farewell to Back 2 Earth… until next time!berry-horse

berry-rabbitsberry-chickenberry-chickenYou can visit Back 2 Earth for the day or you stay at their B&B on the Farm. They offer health treatments like massage, reiki & a float tank. They also have space to run retreats or conferences on their beautiful farm with the option of catering.

With school holidays just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to check them out,
